Measures for supervision and administration of inspection and Quarantine of imported and exported frozen meat products

Many meat customers do not have a clear understanding of the labeling and inspection requirements. Therefore, this time will focus on the interpretation of the General Administration of quality supervision, inspection and Quarantine of the people's Republic of China on the supervision and administration of inspection and Quarantine of imported and exported meat products (Decree No. 136 of the General Administration).


Article 14 the packaging of imported fresh frozen meat products shall meet the following requirements:


(1) Non toxic and harmless materials shall be used for internal and external packaging, which shall be intact and undamaged;


(2) The country of origin, product name, registration number and batch number of the manufacturer shall be indicated on the inner and outer packages;


(3) The outer package shall be marked with specifications, place of origin (specific to state / Province / city), destination, production date, shelf life, storage temperature and other contents in Chinese. The destination shall be marked as the people's Republic of China, and the official inspection and quarantine mark of the exporting country or region shall be added.


Article 18 the inspection and quarantine organ at the import port shall carry out on-site inspection and Quarantine of imported meat products in accordance with the provisions. The on-site inspection and quarantine shall include the following contents:


(1) Check whether the means of transportation are clean and sanitary, whether there is peculiar smell, whether the temperature control equipment and facilities operate normally, and whether the temperature record meets the requirements;


(2) Check whether the certificate is consistent, including container number and lead seal number, name of goods, quantity (weight), exporting country or region, name or registration number of manufacturer, date of production, packaging, shipping mark, official certificate number, mark or seal of exporting country or region;


(3) Check whether the package meets the requirements of national food safety standards;


(4) Whether the labels of prepackaged meat products meet the requirements;


(5) Fresh frozen meat products should also be inspected for freshness, center temperature, pathological changes, visible parasites, living pests, foreign bodies and other abnormal conditions, and cooking test should be conducted if necessary.
